Jason Bradbury paints abstract organic forms suspended in a rich atmosphere of time and space "where there are no clocks and the ground may not be there." Jason has been showing with Brian Marki since 2003.
Jason explains, "With my recent paintings, I am trying to grasp the balance in things. I am working with forms in a place between expansion and contraction; breakdown and build up. The form itself pulls the viewer into the experience, allowing them to create their own understanding of the piece and finding a personal balance.”
His process begins with a few little sketches on paper and then moves to a canvas. He may look at the blank canvas for a while until he sees what should become of it.
It can start with a simple line, circle or spiral shape and then builds layer after layer of brush strokes to create a complex yet minimal form.
